Affectionate Home Care will join efforts in the continuing education initiative by supporting STC and their nursing program by enabling others to succeed. Our company has created the “Heart Open Cup” an amateur golf tournament of which net proceeds generated will be presented to benefit STC’s nursing program students through scholarships. It is no surprise that our beautiful Rio Grande Valley can rank so high at such important degrees associated to health, which in essence contribute greatly on ensuring the wellbeing of our community.
Nonetheless, the shortage of nurses in the Rio Grande Valley can be attributed to many factors. One of the most important is attributed to financial constraints of which many students face; especially single parents whom are struggling to make ends meet, work, and study at the same time.
Our Valley is not only at a loss with the need of caring nurses, but think of all the patients life’s that could be impacted by producing more graduating nurses and the impact it will represent to our local economy.
